Palm Springs Unified School District Communications Manager Joan Boiko has hosted "You Learn Something New Every Day" each week for the last two years on KPTR AM 1450.

Beginning in March, Boiko's show began recording in the DATA DS Studio. The new version of You Learn Something New Everyday is produced by 11th grade DATA students Rio Chacon, Rosa Rodriguez, Janett Tirado, and Norma Vasquez, who are also competing in the SkillsUSA Audio/Radio Production competition (Chacon and Vazquez went all the way to Nationals in 2014).

Producing a weekly radio show is great experience for the four DATA students, who will continue to work with Boiko through their upcoming senior year. The DATA students will also be producing a podcast version of each episode, available for download/listening anytime.
You Learn Something New Everyday can be heard every Saturday beginning on March 28th from 3-4pm on Progressive Talk 1450 KPTR AM.
